If you have ever admired someone’s seemingly stunningly perfect smile, then it’s quite likely they may have benefited from porcelain veneers. This is a widely used treatment that can provide amazing results. Here at Envy Smile Dental Spa it’s just one of the cosmetic dental treatments that we often use during smile makeovers. Porcelain veneers are extremely versatile and can be used to hide a number of different imperfections in your smile.
Why You Might Choose to Have Porcelain Veneers
You might want to consider porcelain veneers if you have gaps in between your teeth that you’d prefer to close up or at least to minimize. Porcelain veneers are also very good for hiding teeth that are badly stained and which cannot be whitened, and for changing the overall color of teeth. Treatment is also good for hiding teeth that have unsightly cracks or chips in them or which have become worn down, and it can be an alternative to orthodontic treatment. If you have just one or two teeth that are slightly rotated or out of position then orthodontics may not really be necessary, but using porcelain veneers can help to realign these teeth, giving them a nicer appearance. Another way of using porcelain veneers is to hide teeth that are oddly shaped or which are perhaps too small. Read also Laminate Veneers FAQ’s.
Finding out How Treatment Could Help You
If you think porcelain veneers sound interesting then it’s best to book a consultation with one of our experienced cosmetic dentists at Envy Smile Dental Spa. We can closely examine your teeth to determine if treatment is suitable for you and will discuss ways it might help you. For example, if you are interested in having a complete smile makeover then we might suggest you use multiple veneers, but sometimes only one or two veneers are required to help improve a smile, providing an enhanced yet natural appearance. Quite often we will use porcelain veneers in conjunction with other treatments, for example tooth whitening or dental crowns. Sometimes using multiple treatments can provide the most conservative yet stunning results.
What to Expect If You Decide to Go Ahead With Treatment
If you decide to have porcelain veneers then we will carefully prepare your teeth under local anesthetic. We do need to remove a minimal amount of tooth material from the front surface of your tooth to create the most natural and very best results. Once your teeth are prepared, a detailed impression is taken to send to our dental laboratory as it will take approximately two weeks for your veneers to be handcrafted. During this time we can protect your teeth with temporary veneers until your second appointment. At this point your new veneers can be fitted and permanently cemented in place. How to Look After Your Veneers
Once you have your new veneers they are simple to look after, as you just need to brush and floss them exactly as normal. We do urge you to come and see us for six monthly checks and hygiene appointments as this will help prolong the natural life of your veneers. With the proper care you will be able to enjoy your stunning new smile for longer.
